A Message From Karen...
| We started our company just a few years ago. Ticket To Broadway® is family owned and operated. As a child I danced for many years with my parents transporting me back and forth to the various dance studios...oh, the sacrifices a Mom & Dad make for their children. | |
| Our lives change with the passing of time. This is a season of change for us. We now have two daughters becoming more independent by the day. Imagine, two girls in college! It is truly amazing how quickly this time has flown by. "Flown by"...it is such a common phrase but so true. If there is any wisdom that we can impart, it would be to just enjoy these days with your children. The competition experience can be trying and exhausting, but look beyond that...appreciate this time! It seems as if it was just yesterday that we brought our girls to their first dance class. Then, we merely closed our eyes and they are grown. We will always remember the wonderful dance memories. It gave us the opportunity to spend both stressful and exhilarating moments with our children. It is funny, but you do cherish both. | |
| Having attended many competitions, I know what it is like to be treated poorly, rudely and pressured to make quick changes. One of my goals with Ticket To Broadway was to create a "performer-friendly dance competition" where the judging is fair and honest. A competition where there is a relaxed environment which allows everyone to sit back and actually enjoy the fun of competing. | |
| We realize at Ticket To Broadway that not every dancer is going to be first or achieve a top award, but, that's not to say we still can't make it fun for them. Remember... it's not only the act of winning, but all the things that go along with the competition that make it fun for the dancers: the costumes, doing their hair, make-up, shoes and team spirit as well as building self-esteem and self-confidence. | |
| These are just a few things that make competing fun for Everyone! These are positive alternatives for our children. That is why our motto is, "Everyone is a Winner When They Catch Their Ticket To Broadway." We believe in treating all our competitors AND their families with Respect, Patience and, of course, Understanding. | |
| When we say "performer-friendly," please don't take our word for it. You can see what everyone is saying by going to Broadway Reviews. There you'll get a snapshot of our "performer-friendly" atmosphere. | |
| Remember..."We should consider every day lost in which we do not dance." (Nietzsche) | |
| We look forward to seeing you again! | |
| Sincerely, | |
| Karen, Director of Ticket To Broadway | |
| P.S. Thanks Mom & Dad, too. |
